Automation of Jammu Development Authority (JDA)
Project Overview
The Automation of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) project was undertaken as a comprehensive e-Governance and digital transformation initiative to modernize internal operations and enhance citizen-centric service delivery. JDA plays a critical role in regulating, approving, and monitoring planned urban development activities within the Jammu region, making process efficiency and transparency essential.
The project focused on replacing fragmented, paper-based workflows with a fully integrated digital ecosystem built on Newgen OmniDocs Document Management System (DMS) and an e-Gov compliant architecture. The solution enabled electronic file management, document lifecycle control, and seamless information flow across departments.
A key component of the initiative was the implementation of E-Office, E-File, DAK Management, Record Management System (RMS), and citizen-facing e-services, ensuring faster approvals, reduced manual intervention, and complete auditability. Legacy physical records were digitized, indexed, and securely archived to enable instant retrieval and long-term preservation.
The project also included As-Is and To-Be process mapping, application development, infrastructure setup, system integration, and long-term operation & maintenance (O&M). By aligning with MeitY e-Governance standards and integrating financial and administrative modules, the solution delivered a single, unified digital platform for governance, administration, and public services.
