Scanning and Digitisation of all non-effective record of service (RoS) of Veteran Officers of Indian Army (Phase-II) Delhi

Project Overview

The project involved the scanning and digitisation of all non-effective Records of Service (RoS) of Indian Army veteran officers, covering approximately 1 crore pages. Physical service records were scanned, digitised, and securely uploaded into a Document Management System (DMS) to ensure easy review, time efficiency, and long-term digital preservation.

A comprehensive indexing and metadata framework with 33 defined fields was implemented to enable accurate classification, quick search, and efficient retrieval of records. The digitised documents were integrated not only into the central DMS but also uploaded to defence applications such as RUDRA and ARPAN, supporting Indian Army applicant workflows and departmental requirements.

The project significantly reduced manual handling of physical files, improved operational efficiency, ensured secure access to service records, and enabled faster processing for veterans and applicants, while maintaining strict data security and compliance standards required for defence records.
